Sentinels of the Landscape
Containment has always been a central concern in my work. This form of containment ensures emotional, spiritual and physical security. These figures, although not ostensibly vessels, have the capacity to contain. What they contain is their own truth. Each has a wise and serene outlook silently engaging us in a dialogue about the landscape that they love and seek to protect. They ask us to respect our landscape, to recognize that it as a gift with which to live in harmony.
An uncomplicated request, simply asked.
